Can social media actually help lawyers land new clients? It depends on how you use it.

Thanks to personal blogs, professional blogs, and social networking, we’ve become a more “social” society while hiding behind our laptops and smartphones. (It’s an observation, not a judgment; we’re guilty, too.)

On June 13, FindLaw is sponsoring Social Media: Fish Where the Fish Are, a free webcast that will take you through what you need to know about social media for law firms. Co-hosted by attorney Charles Rittgers and FindLaw’s Mike Brown, the webcast will cover:

  • Social media channels available to your firm.
  • Best practices and pitfalls to avoid.
  • Social media and time management.
  • How to measure your success on social media.

There will be two sessions of the webcast. Click here to register for the first session at 2 p.m. EST/1 p.m. CST. Click here to register for the second session at 4 p.m. EST/3 p.m. CST on Wednesday, June 13. Anyone with a computer and Internet access can participate.

Social media isn’t for everyone. Some lawyers swear that they’ll never tweet and they don’t want a Facebook page. Other lawyers embrace social media, establish a Facebook page for their practice, and update it regularly. You have to do what’s right for your practice.

If you think social media could be the right path for you, and you want to understand how social media can help your law firm, you can learn more during the free webcast.
