Some lawyers think they are “smarter than the average bear,” which was Yogi Bear’s line back in the 1960s.
If you don’t remember Yogi and his sidekick Boo Boo, you are probably a Millennial. It’s all good, but growing up in the 60s had its benefits.
For example, Boo Boo was also a double entendre for making mistakes. It’s a reminder that a lot of lawyers – young and old – are making mistakes with their passwords.
Top Five Boo Boos
If you didn’t know, Yogi and Boo Boo were focused on picnic baskets. They had no clue about passwords.
Back then, they didn’t even have computers, cell phones, or smart devices. They were like a whole generation of people who grew up then.
Today, everybody has an electronic device but many still don’t have a clue about passwords. According to researchers, people keep using the same dumb passwords. The top five are:
- 123456
- password
- 123456789
- 12345678
- 12345
If your password is on the dumbest list, you probably still watch cartoons on Saturday mornings. If you don’t – use one of these passwords – did you make the biggest password boo boo in history?
Biggest Password Mistake
Last year, Yahoo revealed that 3 billion user accounts were hacked. It’s still a record.
The company advised everybody to change their passwords. Many lawyers took that advice – especially for client security reasons.
